Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy

The University of Padua traces its origins back to 1222. The motto "Universa Universis Patavina Libertas" - 'complete liberty for all at the University of Padua' - underlines the total freedom of thought that the university has always granted its teachers and its students. The institution consists of 13 faculties that offer 100 first cycle degree courses, 80 second cycle degree courses, 70 Short specialization degree courses, 65 specialization schools (mostly medical ones) and a school of excellence (Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori). Moreover the research departments host over 76 different doctoral programmes, which are grouped in 35 doctoral schools and 4 doctorate courses. It is one of the most important higher education institution in Italy with more than sixty thousand students (40000 at bachelor level, 20000 at master level and 1500 at doctoral level), 230 post-doc researchers, 2300 members of the teaching staff and 2300 members of the administrative staff.


K. U. Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven), Belgium

K.U. Leuven was put in place in 1425 and is one of Belgium’s largest universities. As a leading European research university, it offers  high quality education and a wide variety of academic programmes in Dutch and English , supported by high-quality interdisciplinary research, both in the university and in its internationally recognized university hospitals. Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, France

The Economics Department of the University of Paris 1 is the most important economics department in France, in terms of number of students, including 800 in PhD programmes; number of academic and research staff; quality of its research centres: the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne is the most important Unité Mixte de Recherche of Centre national de la recherche scientifique in the area of economics; number of courses offered, including seven separate Master's programmes with more than 20 specialities; - some of these programmes are jointly organised through the Paris School of Economics.
This great variety of courses is exceptional because they are both general and specialised, theoretical and practical, purely economics-oriented or open to other disciplines.

Universidade Catolica Dom Bosco, Brazil

Dom Bosco Catholic University is a Community University with public vocation. This institution since its creation, has sought to promote the human, social equity and local development. Teaching and research are focused primarily on citizenship, sustainability and solidarity. 
The cycles of higher studies are composed: 1°) forty courses in social sciences and Humanities, in legal and administrative science, in biology, pharmacy and medical sciences, agricultural, environmental and digital  engineerings,  2 °) 4 Masters : local development, education, psychology, biotechnologies and 3 °) a Doctorate in educational sciences.
The main lines of research in the masters and the doctorate are : transformative education, social solidarity, cultural diversity and interculturality, health, quality of life, environmental sustainability and local development.



Cairo University

CU represents one of the most prominent Academic Institutions of the Arab world, strongly connected with Mashreq and Maghreb Countries' Universities. CU is the largest academic institution of the Arab world and is nowadays playing a fundamental role in pivoting new cultural and institutional trends in the entire region, hosting students from all its countries. Cairo University was established in 1908 and currently it has 26 faculties/institutions in different scientific disciplines, with total volume of about 250000 students and more than 12000 academic staff. Due to its history in the region, CU has indeed a strong reputation among candidates seeking higher education B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Middle East, Arab North African and African countries. CU also encourages foreign students from these regions to join its programmes, including international mobility schemes. The undergraduate Program of International Agriculture and the graduate Program for M.Sc. in Rural Development and Rural Sociology were established within CU's Faculty of Agriculture to satisfy the needs of students from the above three mentioned regions.



Université de Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

The University OUAGA I Professor Joseph KI-ZERBO, referenced in recent years among the top universities in the French-speaking Africa was established in 1974 and is from the second generation universities in Francophone Africa. It has six (06) training and research units, five (05) institutes including an open and distance education center, three (03) polytechnic university centers, three (03) major graduate schools and a UNESCO Chair "Women, Gender, Science, Society and sustainable Development".
Moreover, the good image of the university, it's also the quality of teacher-researchers recognized internationally.
Many masters are opened in the sectors of pure and applied sciences, science of human health and social sciences, humanities, arts and communication. These include the Master in GIS applied to the development, management of the environment and sustainable development of the Department of Geography whose experience has enabled the University Ouaga I to be one of the consortium partners.



University of Johannesburg, South Africa

The University was established as the Rand Afrikaanse Universiteit (RAU) in 1968 and became the University of Johannesburg in 2005. The University of Johannesburg consists out of nine faculties, presenting 4 year diplomas, 3-years bachelor, one-year Honours degrees, two-year tutored Masters degrees as well as research Masters and PhD degrees. The department of Geography Environmental Management and Energy Studies is located within the Faculty of Sciences. The faculty of Sciences are present 39 undergraduate degrees, 16 Honours degrees, 47 MSc and 17 PhD degrees. The Department of Geography, Environmental Management and Energy Studies present courses for its home faculty (BSc degree) as well as Humanities (BA degree) and Education (Bed degree) the department has have high-quality researchers (11 permanent lectures of whom three are NRF rated researchers (National Research Foundation) and the department is rated amongst the top 100 Geography departments in the word.

The European Association for local Democracy – ALDA

ALDA is a french non profit organization. It was established in 1999 at the initiative of the Council of Europe's Congress of Local and Regional Authorities to coordinate and support a network of Local Democracy Agencies, which was established in the early 1990s in the Balkans. 

ALDA’s mission is the promotion of good governance at the local level. namely through fostering cooperation between local authorities and civil society and promote active citizenship. It works for the construction of equitable, sustainable and inclusive societies. The geographical scope of ALDA encompasses the EU, the South Est Europe (Western Balkans & Turkey), the Eastern Partnership and the Mediterranean area.

ALDA is a membership based organisation gathering more than 230 members (including LAs, Associations of LAs and NGOs) coming from more than 40 countries. ALDA is funded through membership fees and project funding from the European Commission, the Council of Europe and other public and private donors.

Sebrae, the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, is a non-profit private entity, created in 1972, with the mission of promoting the sustainable and competitive development of small businesses. Our role is to foster entrepreneurship, providing guidance to help small businesses to grow, became more sustainable, productive, competitive and innovative and generate more employment, helping to develop the Brazilian economy. SEBRAE has a network of almost 700 onsite service centers (in all Brazilian states) and has more than five thousand experts and a large pool of external consultants. Sebrae is also a development agency, with experts in promoting a more favorable market and working intensively in generating a better and up to date legal environment to the development of small businesses.
